Cease Of Breeding: Sounds of disembowelment

17/02/11  ||  Love Lagerkvist

Oh boy, here we go again. As soon as you see the horrible name, uninteresting “gory” artwork and another rehash of that logo with that font, you know it’s time for Yet-Another-Br00tal-Death-Metal-ShitFest (“YABDMSF” for short). But wait, further investigation shows that there might actually be some hope for this one!

For starters, “Sounds of disembowelment” clocks in at 26:15, which in the case of an album in YABDMSF style is really good news. We’ve also got a certain Blastphemer of Belphegor and Absentia Lunae fame doing the drum work here, so at least the constant double bass bashing is well executed. So with hopes up, let’s turn this sucker on!

…and off five seconds later.

Cease of Breeding repeats all the same mistakes the 984654 other YABDMSF bands do to such an extent that you start to wonder if they where trying to create some morbid kind of parody. Just take the vocals for example, the sheer amount of “bree” that man can create is staggering in a very, very bad way. Or the drums, like, who the hell thinks that amount of triggers is entertaining to listen to is positively retarded. If I wanted a never-ending fury of clickery, I’d just throw my mechanical keyboard in a washing machine. And let’s not start with those horribly uninspired guitars…

Recommendation: Listen to Insision and forget that this band and review exists. Various forms of drugs might help.
